Premier League: Tottenham Hotspur reveal future stadium project and an agreement with the NFL

Tottenham Hotspur FC (Barclays Premier League) has a new architectural project for its future stadium, whose capacity will be 61,000 seats, as opposed to 56,250 seats as initially planned, the club announced on 08/07/2015. The British architectural firm Populous designed the plans for the new enclosure, partly located on the site currently occupied by White Hart Lane (36,200 seats).

Following the consultation of local communities and residents, Tottenham Hotspur decided to amend its initial draft submitted in 2012. In addition to the architecture of the enclosure, the new project includes the improvement of residential, commercial and public facilities. 3,500 jobs will be created due to the future stadium, according to the club.

The stadium will have a fully retractable pitch to allow a second, synthetic surface for American football matches. The club also announced an agreement with the NFL to host a minimum of two games per season in the new stadium for 10 years (2018-2027).
