Premier League: Swansea to subsidise fans for away game tickets, reducing every ticket cost to £22

Swansea City AFC (Barclays Premier League) have launched the operation "True to 22" to allow supporters to pay only £22 (€30.60) for away game tickets for the 2015-16 season, announced the club on 08/07/2015. Swansea City will pay the difference when away tickets cost more than £22.

To benefit from the offer, supporters must join the "Jack Army", the supporters association of the club. The club states that this initiative will allow fans to save a total of £300,000 (approximately €418,000) during the 2015-16 season. Several Premier League clubs charge more than £40 (€55.70) for tickets to the visitor stands.

"As a fan-owned club (the Swansea City Supporters Society owns 21.1% of the club's shares), we are well aware of how expensive it is to follow the team to away games, especially with the increasing transport costs," stated Huw Cooze, the director of the Swansea City Supporters Trust on 08/07/2015. The fans of the Welsh club had to travel an average of 350km per game to support their team at away games in the 2014-15 season.
