Neymar Jr, the Brazilian international who plays for FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) has gained 15.1 million followers on the social network and photo and video sharing platform Instagram since October 2014, and remains the most followed football player on the application with 27 million followers.

Crisitano Ronaldo (POR, Real Madrid CF) is the second most followed player on Instagram with 23.1 million followers, ahead of Lionel Messi (ARG, FC Barcelona) with 20.2 million. The Top 30 of the most followed players have a combined total of 196.3 million followers in July 2015, an increase of 114.4 million since October 2014.
