“Exclusivity has been granted to one party interested in the purchase of West Bromwich Albion Holdings Ltd,” a West Bromwich Albion FC (Barclays Premier League) spokesman said on 03/07/2015. The UK football media has suggested that there are at least three investment groups involved in takeover talks, with the interested parties said to be from China and the USA.

One party has now been preferred to proceed with advanced due diligence on the purchase. Reports added this group has been granted six weeks to complete the deal. Although the club has not revealed the origin of the preferred bidder, several local media outlets have stated their belief it is the Chinese group.

West Bromwich Albion had a net turnover of £86,769,000 (€120,314,000) with an operating profit of £3,060,000 (€4,246,000) in 2013-14.

  • The Chinese online betting operator TLCBet has become the shirt sponsor of West Bromwich Albion FC (Barclays Premier League) for the 2015-16 season, announced the club on 01/07/2015.
