"The popular outrage concerning FIFA in recent weeks has mainly been directed at me personally. I have no problem with this. I can defend myself. However, I would appeal for fairness: I bear no responsibility for members of a government (the FIFA Executive Committee) I have not myself chosen," said Joseph Blatter, FIFA president on 10/07/2015.

The American football administrator Chuck Blazer, a member of the Executive Committee of FIFA from 1997 to 2013, was banned for life "from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for life," said the international federation on 09/07/2015, for having been "a key player in schemes involving the offer, acceptance, payment and receipt of undisclosed and illegal payments, bribes and kickbacks as well as other money-making schemes."

Moreover, Eugenio Figueredo (Uruguay), an outgoing vice-president of FIFA, and Jeffrey Webb (Cayman Islands), a former vice-president of FIFA (dismissed by CONCACAF on 28/05/2015) and five other leaders international football were arrested in Zurich (SUI), following…
