FIFA: Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu wants Michel Platini to succeed Joseph Blatter

"Our candidate is Platini, we would like him to put himself forward for the presidency of FIFA," said Josep Maria Bartomeu, the president of FC Barcelona, on 15/07/2015, three days before another presidential election, for FC Barcelona, in which Josep Maria Bartomeu is one of five candidates on 18/07/2015, along with Joan Laporta, Toni Freixa, Agusti Benedito and Joan Batiste.

"I have an excellent relationship with Angel Maria Villar Llona (president of the Spanish Federation, first vice-president of UEFA and a FIFA vice-president), I talked to him and he knows that our candidate is Platini," said the president of FC Barcelona at a lunch organised by the Forum Europa Tribuna Catalunya.
