Italy: Fox Sports acquires the 2015-2018 TV rights to the Liga BBVA for €15m per season

Fox Sports Italia has extended its broadcasting rights, in Italy, to the Liga BBVA for the 2015-2018 cycle, announced the Italian pay-TV group on 17/07/2015. The rights, acquired from the Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, cover all distribution platforms.

Fox Sports Italia, which was in competition with Mediaset Premium to obtain the rights to the 2015-2018 cycle of the Spanish first division, will pay a sum estimated by the Italian press at €15m per season, more than double the previous cycle (between €6m and €7m per season). Fox Sports, which is only available to subscribers of the Sky satellite package in Italy, will broadcast 380 games from the Liga BBVA for each season of the deal.
