Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund increase capacity of Signal Iduna Park to 81,359 seats (+700)

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) has raised the capacity of the Signal Iduna Park to 81,359 seats, nearly 700 seats more than during the 2014-15 season (80,667), announced the club on 20/07/2015. An area with standing room was arranged in block 63 of the north stand. This area will be reserved for young fans.

Borussia Dortmund are also launching a new phase of works to bring the final stadium capacity to 83,000 seats. The enclosure will continue to have a capacity of 65,829 seats for international matches. The stadium has approximately 16,000 standing places, mostly located in south stand. The club have the best crowds in Europe with the average attendance standing at 80,424 per game in the Bundesliga in the 2014-15 season.

Borussia Dortmund generated matchday revenues of €40.5m during the 2013-14 season, 15.5% of its turnover (€260.7m). Of the 55,000 season ticket holders in 2014-15, only 93 fans (0.16%) terminated their subscription for the new season.
