Poland: PGE (energy) obtains the naming rights to the National Stadium in Warsaw until October 2020

The Polish energy producer and distributor PGE (Polska Grupa Energetyczna) has obtained the naming rights to the National Stadium in Warsaw (58,000 seats) until October 2020 announced the company operating the website PL.2012 +, on 16/07/2015. The stadium was built in 2012 for €486m and hosted five matches of Euro 2012 (co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine), including the opening match.

The enclosure has now been officially renamed PGE Narodowy (National). The total amount paid by PGE is valued at 37m zlotys (€9m) or 7.4m zlotys (€1.8m) per year, according to the Polish business daily Puls Biznesu. PGE may pay a total of 45m zlotys (€10.9m) if the operating company meets certain targets set in terms of events organised per year and audience figures.

"The agreement with PL.2012 + is the next step to achieve our main objective of marketing activities: achieving a level of brand awareness and recognition of PGE so that every Pole not only knows the brand, but above all wants to be its client," said Marek Woszczyk, the chief executive of PGE.
