FIFA: Domenico Scala appointed chairman of the electoral committee for the elections on 26/02/2016

The ad hoc electoral committee appointed Domenico Scala (ITA-SUI), the current FIFA chairman of the audit & compliance committee, as its committee chairman, announced FIFA on 21/07/2015. This body, under the electoral regulations of the international federation, is composed of the chairmen of three FIFA committees: the disciplinary committee (Claudio Sulser, SUI), the appeal committee (Larry Mussenden, Bermuda) and the audit & compliance committee (Domenico Scala).

"The Executive Committee decided to call for elections and initiated the election period with the formal establishment of the ad hoc election committee," stated FIFA following the meeting of its Executive Committee on 20/07/2015.

This extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee, organised following the decision of Joseph Blatter, 02/06/2015, to "lay down my mandate", selected Friday 26/02/2016 as the date for the extraordinary elective FIFA Congress, which will nominate the successor to Joseph Blatter.
