The San Siro (Stadio Giuseppe Meazza) in Milan is set to receive a €16 million facelift, with a view to hosting the 2016 Champions League final.

The work, commissioned by MI Stadio, who also manage the stadium, mostly concerns renovating hospitality areas and doubling the number of toilets to two hundred.

MI Stadio will be paid in equal shares by AC Milan and Inter Milan, in addition to their annual rent of €7 million each. It will be during the next Executive Committee meeting on 22 and 23.05.2013 in London that UEFA will officially confirm the decision to hold the 2016 final in Milan.
