Olympique Lyonnais: 6% (€93.8m) increase in 2014 revenue, excluding and player trading European Cups

The total revenue generated by Olympique Lyonnais (Ligue 1) stood at €103.2m on 30/06/2015, compared to €120.5m in 2013-14, a decline of 14% (€17.3m), which is directly related to the non-participation of the club in the group stage of either European Cup competition (estimated impact of -€13.7m) and the postponement of a plan to sell certain players in summer 2014 (estimated impact of -€8.9m), announced the OL Groupe, the holding company which owns Olympique Lyonnais, on 24/07/2015.

Revenue from operations for the year, excluding player trading and European Cup monies, are up 6% (€5.3m) and amounted to €93.8m, compared to €88.5m in 30/06/2014. Player trading accounted for €7.2m in 2014-15, whereas in the previous year this figure was €16.1m.

18% increase in sponsorship revenue to €22.4m

  • Sponsorship and advertising revenue increased by 18% from €19m in 2013-14 to €22.4m in 2014-15.
    • This was notably buoyed by an increase in sponsorship contracts and a sign-on fee of €3m related to catering for the new stadium.
