Brazil: Globo creates Estádio TV, to be broadcast in stadiums to "increase and retain" audiences

On 13/07/2015, the Brazilian broadcaster Globo launched Estádio TV, a television channel to be shown inside Brazilian football stadiums. "Estádio TV provides a unique entertainment concept, thanks to exclusive content and interactions with fans on the screens of the stadium," said Globo on 13/07/2015.

Estádio TV, which sublicenses content from the TV channels Globo SporTV and Premiere FC, is responsible for the production of programmes and content, while the stadium managers are in charge of operations on the giant screen on matchdays. "The project aims to bring benefits to all parties involved with football, fans, stadiums, clubs, as well as federations and confederations, because the programming should help increase and retain audiences," said Globo.

  • Estádio will produce three hours of TV programming for each game, divided into several distribution blocks: team warm ups, pre-match, first half, half-time, second half and post-match.
