The Canadian anglophone pay-TV channel Sportsnet acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights, in Canada, to the Bundesliga and the German Super Cup until the end of the 2019-20 season, on 22/07/2015. The rights were acquired via sublicense from the pay-TV channel Fox Sports, who have hold the rights to the Bundesliga in the US and Canada since 2013-14, but did not broadcast in Canada.

Sportsnet, owned by the Rogers Media telecommunications group, will broadcast all 306 Bundesliga games each season, live or delayed, on its Sportsnet World channel or its Sportsnet World Now mobile platform. A programme presenting summaries of all the games of each matchday will also be broadcast.

Sportsnet will begin its broadcasts with the 2015 German Super Cup, which showcases FC Bayern Munich, the 2014-15 Bundesliga champions, against VfL Wolfsburg, who won the 2014-15 DFB-Pokal, at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg (GER) on Saturday 01/08/2015 from 20:30 CET.
