The extraordinary FIFA Congress in charge of electing the next president of the international federation will be held in Zurich (SUI) on Friday 26/02/2015, FIFA announced on 20/07/2015. Joseph Blatter was re-elected for a fifth term (2015-2019 period) as the president of FIFA on 29/05/2015, but announced that he would "lay down my mandate", on 02/06/2015. Candidates now have until 26/10/2015 to formally declare the candidacies (with the support of at least five of the 209 national federations), four months before the congress, according to FIFA statutes.
