LaLiga and the Spanish union of content creators unite to fight against digital piracy

LaLiga and the CCEC ("Coalición de creadores e industrias de contenidos", the Union of Content Creators and Content Industries) formed a partnership to "work together on all fronts against digital piracy", on 21/07/2015. The objectives of the joint action range "from greater social awareness and educational programmes, to the improvement of the laws and their efficient application," said the Spanish Professional Football League.

Digital piracy is "a scourge that seriously damages the development of the football, publishing, film, series, music, and video game industries, which make up 5% of the Spanish GDP," said LaLiga . At present, "the cultural industries, as well as the sports and entertainment content are suffering losses of €1,700m as a result of this illegal practice," added the Spanish League.

From September 2015 and during the 2015-16 school year, LaLiga and the CCEC will organise an awareness campaign in Spanish schools for "teaching of values and respect for intellectual property to the pupils," LaLiga explains.
