Twitter: €454.5m in turnover and €124m in net loss in second quarter of 2015

The social network Twitter achieved a turnover of $502m (€454.5m at the conversion rate on 29/07/2015) in the second quarter of 2015, up 13.3% compared to the first quarter of 2015 (€401m) announced the company on 28/07/2015. Twitter posted a net loss of $137m (€124m), down 17.9% from the first quarter 2015 (€151m losses). During the first quarter report of 2015, Twitter had projected a turnover of between $470m (€437.1m) and $485m (€451m) for the 2nd quarter of 2015 on 28/04/2015.

The social network Twitter had 316 million monthly users in the second quarter of 2015, a figure up 2.6% from the first quarter of 2015 (308 million monthly users). "Our Q2 results show good progress in monetisation, but we are not satisfied with our growth in audience," said Jack Dorsey, the interim CEO of Twitter following the departure of Dick Costolo, on 28/07/2015.

  • Twitter allowed people to watch the presentation of its results through its live streaming application Periscope, which it bought on 13/03/2015 and launched on 26/03/2015.
