Premier League: Southampton FC shortlisted for UK "Growth Business of the Year" award

Southampton FC (Barclays Premier League) have the made the shortlist for the "Growth Business of the Year" category in the United Kingdom’s National Business Awards, the club remarked on 30/07/2015.

The award nomination is in a category sponsored by the export-focused government body UK Trade & Investment, and recognises the club’s economic development during the 2014-15 season.

“Southampton Football Club stands alongside some prestigious and powerful companies for the UKTI Growth Business of the Year. We are making important inroads into our long-term strategy for continued growth. We have made some bold decisions but these have been based on our values and our ongoing aim to create a sustainable business model," stated Gareth Rogers, the club's chief executive.

• The UKTI awards ceremony will take place at Grosvenor House in Park Lane, London (ENG) on 10/11/2015.
• By finishing 7^th in the 2014-15 Premier League, Southampton FC qualified for the 2015-16 Europa League, entering in the Third Qualifying Round.
