Spain: League to jointly sell free-TV Liga BBVA and Copa del Rey matches for 2015-16

Lots 1 and 2 of the of domestic free-TV broadcast rights tender for Liga BBVA and Copa del Rey 2015-16 fixtures, launched by LaLiga on 17/07/2015, have now been made jointly available to broadcasters by the Spanish league, according to the Spanish press on 31/07/2015.

Lot 1 covers exclusive live free-TV broadcasting (and/or non-exclusive replays) for one La Liga fixture on each of the 38 matchdays of the championship. Lot 2 concerns the exclusive live broadcast, on free-TV or paid-TV (and/or non-exclusive replays), for 10 matches of the Copa del Rey (excluding semi-finals), throughout the season.

Offers for these two lots have not reached the fixed floor price set by the League, unlike Lot 3 (covering the free-TV rights for all Liga BBVA and Copa del Rey fixtures in 2015-16), awarded to the public broadcasting group RTVE on 29/07/2015. LaLiga has since then started direct negotiations with broadcasters interested in Lots 1 and 2, such as broadcasting groups Mediaset España and Atresmedia.
