Real Madrid: installation of a hybrid pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu

A hybrid (or reinforced) pitch has been installed since 02/08/2015 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (85,000 seats), the home of Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA).

Real Madrid are the second Liga BBVA club to install a hybrid pitch during the 2015 pre-season after Villarreal CF, who installed Desso GrassMaster pitch technology, developed by the Dutch company Desso Sports Systems, at the Estadio El Madrigal (25,000 seats) on 02/07/2015.

Real Madrid have not specified as to the exact technology used for the hybrid pitch at the Santiago Bernabeu. According to News Tank Football sources, the club has made no contact with Desso Sports Systems or the French company Natural Grass, the two main companies in the market for hybrid pitches in Europe.
