MLS: league partners with a university (SNHU) to promote the higher education of its players

Southern New Hampshire University has become the exclusive partner of MLS in the field of education "for several years", the league announced on 27/07/2015. "This contract is the first of its kind signed by the league in this area," stated MLS.

"Through the partnership, SNHU will empower MLS players to pursue their higher-education degrees, while MLS will provide exclusive learning opportunities and experiences to current SNHU students," stated MLS on 27/07/2015.

Southern New Hampshire University will provide 125 scholarships per year through 2018 for current and former MLS players. Members of league's administration and club staffs can also take part in the programme.

  • Southern New Hampshire University has a total of about 60,000 students, including 57,000 who mainly complete programmes online.
