Premier League: Marathonbet (betting operator) partners with Manchester United until 2017-18

The British betting operator Marathonbet has become a partner of Manchester United FC (Barclays Premier League) for three seasons (2015-16 to 2017-18), the club announced on 05/08/2015. The organisation acquired the exclusive worldwide betting rights, with the exception of four areas: the United States, China, Macau and Hong Kong.

Marathonbet will receive visibility on advertising boards at Old Trafford (75,000 seats), access to the first team players and the club's legends, as well as exposure across digital platforms. Marathonbet replaces Bwin, whose estimated contract of £2.4m (€3.44m) per season expired in July 2015. Marathonbet, already partnered with Tottenham Hotspur FC (Premier League) since August 2014, has also become the betting partner of Liverpool FC (Premier League) in July 2015.

Sponsorship contracts enabled the Red Devils to generate £135.8m (€170.2m) in revenue in 2014, representing an increase of £44.9m (€56.3m), up 49.4% compared to 2013 (£90.9m, €114m).
