India: Multi Screen Media (Sony Kix) acquires the rights to Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante in 2015-2018

The Indian pay-TV group Multi Screen Media Private Limited, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television, has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights for the 2015-2018 seasons of the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante on 03/08/2015. The rights are valid for all distribution platforms in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and the Maldives.

Financial details of the contract, negotiated through the Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro, were not disclosed. Spanish first and second division fixtures will be broadcast on Sony Kix, a pay-channel dedicated to football. The 2012-2015 broadcast rights of the Liga BBVA in India were held by the pay-TV group Star India, a subsidiary of US conglomerate 21^st Century Fox.
