Premier League: 14,000 attend Newcastle United Open Day, with training open to the public

14,000 spectators attended the Newcastle United FC (Premier League) Open Day, the club announced on 04/08/2015. Each season, before the resumption of the Premier League, the English club allows its supporters to attend a first team training session at the club's stadium, St. James Park (52,387 seats).

"The annual Open Day has become an important part of our countdown to the new season and it's great for fans to see the players training so close to Sunday's game against Southampton (Matchday 1, on 09/08/2015). Our aim was to make this year's Open Day the biggest and best yet so we're delighted that so many supporters came along to St. James' Park to enjoy themselves," stated Lee Marshall, the director of communications of Newcastle United FC, on 04/08/2015.

In addition to the first team training session, many activities were offered to fans, including a fan zone located outside St. James Park.
