"We are on the verge of signing a pilot programme in which 40 Spanish coaches will come to Chinese schools to offer their knowledge and promote a new football course," announced Javier Tebas, the president of LaLiga, during the Chinese leg of the LFP World Challenge friendly tournament, which concluded with the match between Shanghai SIPG FC - Club Atlético de Madrid (0-3) on 04/08/2015.

The agreement between LaLiga and the Chinese government would also allow the Liga Adelante and Chinese second division to "exchange experiences between representatives", and could ultimately lead to the opening of a LaLiga football school in China.

"We are convinced that LaLiga will soon have its own football schools, dedicated not to the recruitment of talent, but to talent development, in accordance with the values of Spanish football," said Javier Tebas.

  • "During every pre-season and post-season we will be bringing our clubs to China. The football industry has to be in China because it is a key country for its development," said Javier Tebas on 04/08/2015
