FIFA: CAF will not support Liberian Musa Bility in his FIFA presidential candidacy

"After a fraternal exchange, full of sincerity and cordiality, the CAF Executive Committee decided unanimously not to offer the requested support of CAF to Mr Musa Bility, whilst wishing him luck in the continuation of his endeavour," announced the African confederation, after the meeting of its Executive Committee on 06/08/2015.

Musa Bility, president of the LFA (Liberian Football Federation), announced his intention to run for the presidency of FIFA on 18/06/2015. 48 years old, he has been president of the LFA since 2010. He had asked CAF and its members to officially support his candidacy.

In previous elections, CAF had supported the candidacy of Joseph Blatter (SUI), who was re-elected to a fifth term (from 2015-2019), on 29/05/2015. “This morning (27/05/2015), the CAF Executive Committee reiterated its support to Mr Blatter while allowing its members a free vote,” said the African confederation, on the eve of the re-election of the Swiss leader on 28/05/2015.
