FIFA: David Nakhid (Trinidad and Tobago) announces his intention to be presidential candidate

David Nakhid, the former Trinidadian International, has announced his intention to be a candidate for the presidency of FIFA on 12/08/2015. "I go in the ring and I'm ready for the challenge. The position of FIFA president is a diplomatic post with serious connotations. It needs someone who understands football and understands implementation and has the ability to transform that into how we reform the developing world, " stated David Nakhid (51 years old), who currently heads the "David Nakhid International Football Academy", an academy for young players in Lebanon.

These elections will be held during an extraordinary FIFA Congress held in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016. This date was set by the FIFA Executive Committee on 20/07/2015. The deadline for submission of candidate applications is 26/10/2015. A candidate for the office of FIFA president is only valid if it is supported by at least five member associations.
