FIFA investigation after UEFA protest an anonymous article targeting Michel Platini

"FIFA secretary general Jérôme Valcke has received a letter from UEFA regarding the said subject. In his answer to UEFA, the FIFA secretary general has confirmed that FIFA is investigating the matter," said FIFA to News Tank Football on 18/08/2015, about the dissemination of an anonymous article criticising Michel Platini, the president of UEFA and a candidate for the presidency of the international federation, to several European newpapers and other media outlets.

The German newspaper Welt am Sonntag published an article on 16/08/2015 titled "Platini: skeletons in the closet". The article was sent anonymously, though it is speculated to have originated from Thomas Renggli, a close associate of the current FIFA president, Joseph Blatter.

Five days earlier, on 11/08/2015, UEFA had sent an official letter to FIFA asking the federation "to look into this issue and confirm whether any such 'Platini dossier' exists, if it was indeed sent to the media and, if so, by whom".
