Canal+: Vivendi completes 93.6% acquisition of Société d’Edition de Canal Plus (SECP) for €457.8m

Vivendi now owns 93.6% of the capital of SECP (Société d’Edition de Canal Plus), the company which owns the six thematic channels of the Canal+ group in France, announced Vivendi, the French telecommunications and media group, on 17/08/2015.

Vivendi already owned 48.48% of the capital and voting rights of SECP, via its 100% subsidiary, the Groupe Canal+. Following a takeover bid announced on 12/05/2015 and conducted between 09/07 and 12/08/2015, Vivendi acquired 57,220,114 shares of SECP at a price of €8 (€457.8m in total), representing 45.2% of share capital and voting rights of the Société d’Edition de Canal Plus.
