Bundesliga: Matchday 1 attracts 2.11 million subscribers (14-59 years old), a new record for Sky

The live broadcast of all nine matches from the Matchday 1 of the Bundesliga season, on 14 to 16/08/2015, cumulatively drew 2.11 million viewers between the ages of 14 to 59, the heart of the German target advertising audience, the pay-TV group Sky Deutschland announced on 17/08/2015. This is a new record for Matchday 1 of a Bundesliga season braodcast on Sky, 9% more than the previous record set in 2014-15 (1.94 million viewers aged between 14 to 59).

In total, 10 live broadcasts (nine matches and a multiplex of five matches) were watched by an average of 4.68 million subscribers, 4.01 million on the linear television service and 670,000 on the Sky Go Internet and mobile streaming service.

The multiplex of the five games played Saturday 15/08/2015 at 15:30 CET, drew the most subscribers: 1.12 million on the linear service and 210,000 on Sky Go, or 1.33 million subscribers in total. This represents a 9.7% audience share over all German TV channels, and 18.4% over the target audience of 14-59 year olds, making the multiplex the most watched program on German TV in the afternoon of…
