Euro 2016: new work to the pitch of the Stadium de Toulouse in September 2015

The Stadium de Toulouse (33,000 places) will undergo renovation to reduce the gradient between the field and the benches, and also reduce the width of the pitch to 66 meters, announced Toulouse city council on 20/08/2015.

"Construction plans will be presented quickly to the LNR, the FFR and UEFA. We will seek to gain 3.5 meters of touchline space from either side of the pitch, in the plans where the width the playing pitch would be reduced to 66 meters from it's current 68 meters, in order to play rugby," said Laurence Arribagé, the sports secretary for the Toulouse city council, on 20/08/2015.

The surface around the pitch, as a consequence of the work for Euro 2016, has 16° slope in order to comply with UEFA specifications concerning the visibility of LED advertising boards.

"If the plans are validated by UEFA and the rugby authorities, work will start after the match between Toulouse FC and AS Monaco (22/08/2015, Ligue 1, Matchday 3), during the international break. Further, more substantial work, will take place after Euro 2016, but they will not be expensive," said Laurence…
