FIFA meet with five business partners and "reaffirms its commitment to reform"

"FIFA met with its Commercial Affiliates AB InBev (which owns the beer brand Budweiser), adidas, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s and Visa at the Home of FIFA to discuss current matters. During the meeting, FIFA reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, reform, and collaboration with its valued partners. No further comment will be made on the internal discussions between the parties," announced the international federation on 20/08/2015.

FIFA's partners have publicly expressed their concern for several months following the various cases of corruption affecting the international federation. "We are eager to know the nature and scope of reforms to be completed in the near future," stated Visa, the American electronic payment solutions company, on 02/06/2015. The company had threatened to "reassess its partnership" if no change was made on 27/05/2015.
