"The first meeting of the 2016 FIFA Reform Committee will be held in the Swiss capital of Bern on 02 to 03/09/2015. No further comments on the meeting will be provided at this time" said François Carrard, the chairman of the committee, on 20/08/2015.

François Carrard (77 years old) was appointed the independent chairman of the 2016 FIFA Reform Committee on 11/08/2016. This committee is responsible for developing a series of reform proposals that will be presented at the forthcoming extraordinary Congress of FIFA in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016, in which the successor to Joseph Blatter for the presidency of the international federation will also be elected.

The committee is composed of 15 members, including 12 from the member confederations of FIFA (two persons from UEFA, two from the AFC, two from CONCACAF, two from the CAF, two from CONMEBOL, two from the OFC and the independent chairman François Carrard. The representatives from the confederations were announced on 11/08/2015; the two additional members appointed by FIFA's commercial partners will be announced "soon".
