Sky Deutschland: Roman Steuer to succeed Carsten Schmidt as head of sports on 01/09/2015

The German Roman Steuer will succeed his counterpart Carsten Schmidt in the role of head of sports at Sky Deutschland, announced the German pay-TV group on 20/08/2015. The change will be effective on 01/09/2015.

Roman Steuer, 51 years old, has held, since April 2011, the position of senior vice-president of Sky Deutschland in charge of the management of Sky Sport News HD, the sports news channel of the group, launched in December 2011. After joining Sky Deutschland in 1999, Steuer has been a vice-president of the group since 2006, as deputy director of sports. Before 1999, he successively held positions in the television groups Bayerischer Rundfunk (the public audiovisual group of Bavaria), Tele 5 and DSF (now Sport 1).

Carsten Schmidt, the head of sports of Sky Deutschland since 1999, officially assumed his new role as chairman and CEO of the group on 24/06/2015. The name of the successor of Roman Steuer as the head of Sky Sport News HD has not been disclosed to date.
