Borussia Dortmund: €276m in turnover (+5.9%), €5.5m in net profit (-54.2%) in 2014-15

Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA has achieved a turnover of €276m during the 2014-15 fiscal year (from 01/07/2014 to 30/06/2015), up 5.9% year-on-year (€260.7m), announced the group which owns the Bundesliga club on 21/08/2015.

Despite the decline in sporting performance (Dortmund were 7^th in the Bundesliga in 2014-15, compared to second in 2013-14; the club reached the Round of 16 in the Champions League in 2014-15, compared to being a quarter-finalist in 2013-14), the club's revenue growth is largely linked to gains from player trading (€12.4m in 2014-15, compared to €4.5m in 2013-14, up 175.6%) and merchandising (€39.3m in 2014 -15, compared to €35m in 2013-14, or 12.3%).

The Dortmund group posted an EBITDA of €55.6m on 30/06/2015, an increase of 13.2% year-on-year (€49.1m), and an operating profit of €17m, up 44 1% compared to 30/06/2014 (€11.8m). Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA recorded a net profit of €5.5m, down 54.2% from 2014 (€12m).
