Matchday 1 of the 2015-16 Liga BBVA drew 24,533 spectators per game on average, for a stadium fill rate of 68%, from 21 to 24/08/2015. Athletic Club Bilbao - FC Barcelona (0-1) drew the best crowd of the matchday with 44,772 spectators at the San Mamés Barria (53,300 seats), a fill rate of 84%.

The Rayo Vallecano - Valencia CF (0-0) match, which drew 9442 people, had the lowest crowd of the weekend. Four of the 10 matches drew less than 15,000 spectators on the opening matchday.

The average attendance of the Spanish league was 26,831 spectators per game in 2014-15, for a stadium fill rate of 71.8%. The league's average attendance remained stable compared to the 2013-14 season (26,776).
