Liga BBVA: Sevilla FC to renovate the external façade of the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán

Sevilla FC (Liga BBVA) will continue the renovation of the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán (42,500 seats) with the transformation of the exterior façade, announced José Castro, the president of the club, on 25/08/2015.

The work aims to make the stadium, opened in 1958, more welcoming and modernised. The north and south stands will feature the trophies won by the club. The western grandstand will include a mosaic on the history of the club as well as the portraits of Sevilla legends. Antonio Puerta, a club player who died on the field during a match in 2007, will be visible on the front of the main stand. The renovation also includes a redesign of the exterior lighting with the introduction of red LEDs. This phase of renovations will also include the installation of new big screens, new toilet facilities, sales areas, signs and lifts.

The club had started work in the summer of 2015 to replace the seating in the entire stadium and re-do the mixed areas, the boxes, the official store and the team benches area. "We owe it to our fans and to ourselves. This is the year of the season…
