Maxxis, the Taiwan-based tyre manufacturer, has extended its partnership with Liverpool FC (Premier League) until the end of the 2016-17 season, the club announced on 26/08/2015. Maxxis has been a partner of the English club since 2009.

The company will benefit from visibility on the LED advertising boards and the possibility of using the club's digital channels for its media campaigns. "Asia is now a highly important market for English football clubs, and Europe is a rapidly expanding market for us -- so there’s a lot of synergy there. Add to that the fact the club has over 4.5 million followers on Twitter and 26 million on Facebook and it becomes very clear that our two brands combine for the perfect collaboration," stated Derek McMartin, the managing director of Maxxis International.

Liverpool generated £103.8m (€142m) in commercial revenue during the 2013-14 season. This total represented 41% of the club's turnover.
