USA: Rayo Vallecano (Liga BBVA) could acquire the future (NASL, 2nd div.) Oklahoma City franchise

Rayo Vallecano (Liga BBVA) could become the majority shareholder of the NASL expansion franchise Oklahoma City FC, who will enter into the league in the coming years, announced several Spanish media sources on 19/08/2015.

Oklahoma City FC should enter into the NASL, which currently has 11 franchises, by 2016. However, the franchise has seen many changes in its shareholding and ownership structure, pushing the NASL to consider postponing or even canceling its integration into the league. According to the Spanish media, the arrival of Rayo Vallecano as shareholders could facilitate the integration of the franchise into the NASL, possibly as early as 2016.

If the transaction is confirmed, Rayo Vallecano will become the first Spanish club to be the majority shareholder of a club in the United States.
