Facebook: Manchester United (1st) have three times the number of fans than Manchester City (5th)

Manchester United FC (Premier League) have 66.2 million fans on the social media network Facebook, more than three times the number of fans of their cross-city rival Manchester City FC (19.5 million), according to the data compiled by News Tank Football on 31/08/2015. Manchester United are the most followed English club on Facebook, ahead of Chelsea FC (43.4 million) and Arsenal FC (33.4 million). Manchester City are the fifth most followed English club, just after Liverpool FC in fourth with 26.1 million fans.

The Premier League remains the most followed league in Europe with 209 million Facebook fans, ahead of the Liga BBVA with 191.6 million total Facebook fans -- including 170.9 million Facebook fans from FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF combined, who remain the two most followed football clubs on the social network.
