FIFA: press conference of the American and Swiss attorney generals in Zurich (SUI) on 14/09/2015

Loretta E. Lynch, the Attorney General of the United States, and Michael Lauber, the Attorney General of the Swiss Confederation, have scheduled a joint press conference in Zurich (SUI) on 14/09/2015 to discuss the two legal investigation currently in progress in connection with FIFA.

The US and Swiss justice departments have publicly announced investigations in connection with FIFA since 27/05/2015:

• The US Department of Justice has released an indictment against 14 people -- including seven leaders in world football arrested in Zurich (SUI) on 27/05/2015 -- for racketeering, wire fraud and corruption over a period of 24 years, on 27/05/2015.
• In Switzerland, the Public Ministry of the Confederation (MPC) announced, on 27/05/2015, they have opened "criminal proceedings against unknown persons" for suspicion of mismanagement and money laundering surrounding the awarding of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

The press conference will explain "the status of both investigations", and provide new information on both actions, indicated Swiss authorities on 01/09/2015.
