Twitter: Real Madrid (Liga BBVA) reach 17 million followers on its main account

Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA) reached 17 million followers on its main Twitter account, the highest total of any European club, according to figures recorded by News Tank Football on 01/09/2015. The Madrid club has 1.1 million followers more than FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA). Arsenal FC (Premier League) is the third most followed European club with 6.26 million followers.

However, Barcelona dominate the rankings for the cumulative number of followers on all accounts, with 30.8 million followers, ahead of Real Madrid (26.4 million), Chelsea FC (7 million) and Manchester United FC (6.7 million).
