FIFA: Chung Mong-joon accuses the AFC of "electoral fraud" in favour of Michel Platini

The South Korean Chung Mong-joon, a FIFA presidential candidate of, has accused the AFC of "electoral fraud" in favour of Michel Platini (FRA), the current UEFA president and also a candidate for the presidency of FIFA, on 03/09/2015. Chung Mong-joon says he possesses copies of letters sent by the Asian Confederation to its member federations offering to provide support to Michel Platini in the election for the presidency of FIFA, which will take place at a extraordinary FIFA Congress in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016.

"It is an obvious case of election fraud infringing on the basic rights of other presidential candidates," stated Chung Mong-joon at a press conference in Seoul (KOR) on 03/09/2015. The Former FIFA vice-president says he sent copies of the letters received by Asian federations to the FIFA Ad Hoc Electoral Committee and the FIFA Ethics Committee.
