European Migrants: Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Dortmund, AS Roma, Porto and others rally support

Following in the footsteps of German football and FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), who were the first club to announce measures to aide foreign migrants, a growing number of European football clubs are initiating steps to support refugee populations in Europe. "Germany is currently experiencing its greatest influx of refugees for many decades. This presents a special challenge to the state and society. FC Bayern Munich will play an active part in meeting the challenge and, working closely with the city of Munich and state of Bavaria, contribute financial, material and practical help," stated Bayern Munich on 03/09/2015.

Bayern Munich and Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA) have already announced they will pay €1m to support projects for refugees as well as make sports equipment and facilities available to young people. Borussia Dortmund and 1. FSV Mainz 05 (Bundesliga) also have become involved, both inviting more than 200 refugees to attend a match.
