France: Thierry Cheleman succeeds Thierry Thuillier as the director of sports for the Groupe Canal+

"Thierry Cheleman has been appointed director of sports for the Groupe Canal+, he succeeds Thierry Thuillier whose assignment will be defined later," announced the French pay-TV group Canal+ on 07/09/2015. Thierry Cheleman had previously held, since August 2007, the position of director of sports, theatre and live events for the free DTT channel D8 (Groupe Canal+).

Thierry Cheleman's appointment follows the arrival of Vincent Bolloré, the chairman of the supervisory board of the French media and telecommunications group Vivendi (which owns Groupe Canal+), as the head of the supervisory board of Canal+ on 03/09/2015.

Thierry Thuillier was previously the antenna and programme director of the French public TV channel France 2 until June 2015, when he officially assumed his new role as director of sports of the Groupe Canal+, succeeding Cyril Linette, who became CEO of the SAS (limited company) L'Équipe in March 2015.
