Digital: Euro Media Group acquires Netco Sports, the second screen solutions provider

The French audiovisual technical services company EMG (Euro Media Group) has acquired Netco Sports, the French provider of second screen solutions, the two groups announced on 10/09/2015.

Created in 2009, Netco Sports "has rapidly become a trusted partner for large-scale sport events and broadcasting players, creating landmark applications for mobiles and tablets for leading sports organisations including FIFA, UEFA, the LFP, Premier League clubs (...) Canal+, Eurosport, beIN Sports and Fox Sports, amongst many others," said EMG.

Netco Sports will become an integrated part of the EMG Content Services department, established on 18/06/2015, and apply its second screen expertise in video processing and management, to already existing VOD and OTT services. "The addition clearly enables EMG to rise up the audiovisual value chain and accelerates the move towards 'disintermediation' of content delivery," said EMG.

Jean-Sébastien Cruz, the founder and CEO of Netco Sports, became director of EMG Content Services. He will report directly to Thierry Drilhon, the CEO of EMG.
