Germany: adidas could extend partnership with the DFB for a record contract of €100m/year (Bild)

The German equipment supplier adidas could extend its historical partnership with the DFB for a record contract worth €100m per year for the 2019 to 2028 period, according to the the German newspaper Bild on 08/09/2015.

"Our contract with the DFB runs until 2018. Therefore it is much too early to speculate about a renewal," said Oliver Brueggen, a spokesman for adidas, to Bild. In 2007, the German Federation extended its agreement with adidas until 2018 for an estimated annual amount of €26m. The company, based in Herzogenaurach (just north of Nuremberg, GER) should be preferred to the American brand Nike, who had proposed an amount double the size of their current contract between the German Federation and adidas, according to the German media.

"The time to design a new collection is very important for kit suppliers. We have worked closely with adidas for years, of course we will discuss with them.
