MLS: Miami franchise finds a site for the construction of their future stadium (Don Garber)

"We have to finalise a whole bunch of deals with the city and the landowners, but the site has been selected," said Don Garber, the MLS commissioner, about the construction site for the future Miami franchise, to the British website BBC Sport on 09/09/2015.

"We are as confident as we have ever been that we can move this forward," said Don Garber. The group of investors for the Miami MLS franchise project, led by former the England international David Beckham (40 years old), announced that an agreement in principle was reached with Tomás Regalado, the mayor of the city, on the construction of a new 25,000 seat stadium, on 18/07/2015. Miami United (temporary franchise name) wants to enter into the league in 2017. The construction of an stadium was a condition set by the MLS to validate the deal.
