European Commission: Juncker and Platini meet to "discuss major challenges facing European football"

Jean-Claude Juncker, the president of the European Commission and Michel Platini, UEFA president, met to "discuss the major challenges facing European football", at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels (BEL), on 10/09/2015.

The European Commission and UEFA had previously signed a cooperation agreement and pledged to work together on "issues of common interest" such as the integrity of sport, respect for human rights and human dignity, non-discrimination and solidarity for the 2015-2017 period, in Brussels, on 14/10/2014.

"This meeting (on 10/09/2015) underlined again the strong relationship between the EU’s executive body and the European football governing body," said UEFA. The prohibition of ownership of players by third parties (TPO), Financial Fair Play, training and Euro 2020 were discussed during the meeting.
