2024 Olympic Games: Paris, Rome and Hamburg send their letters of application to the IOC

Paris has officially sent its letter of application to host the 2024 Olympic Games to the IOC on 12/09/2015. The respective committees of Hamburg (Germany, on 09/09/2015) and Rome (Italy, 11/09/2015) also sent their application letters to the IOC president Thomas Bach. Budapest (Hungary) had already announced its candidacy in a letter written by Zsolt Borka, president of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, and Istvan Tarlos, the mayor of Budapest, on 07/07/2015.

The official letter of Los Angeles (United States) must be sent by 15/09/2015, the deadline for applications. The Organising Committee of Toronto (Canada) confirmed their intention to be a candidate on 13/09/2015 and is currently awaiting confirmation from the City Council in order to send the letter. The cities of Baku (Azerbaijan) and Doha (Qatar) are still under consideration, according to the IOC, on 09/09/2015.

The host city of the 2024 Olympic Games will be designated in September 2017 during the 130^th IOC Session in Lima (Peru).
